The city of Montreal chooses DECIMAL to implement activity-based management
As part of its optimization projects and overall administrative reform process, the city of Montreal chose DECIMAL’s Activity-based Management application for the costing of their services.
Longueuil, March 23, 2016 – DECIMAL, a Quebec-based company, a specialist in activity-based costing and supplier of process improvement solutions that combine budgeting, costing and financial dashboards, announced today that it has closed a $1.5 M-deal to install and implement the Decimal Suite application at the city of Montreal.
The city of Montreal issued a request for proposals to acquire a cloud-based solution to perform activity-based costing and reporting. More specifically, the city wanted to improve its Activity-Based Management (ABM) capabilities and also put in place a financial and operational data collection process. The ultimate goal was to generate strategic information that would enable the city to make more informed decisions.
The DECIMAL Solution was chosen because it meets every one of the city’s requirements: it supports benchmarking initiatives, pinpoints potential optimization areas, gives managers an important decision-making tool, and provides much-needed support for the budgeting process by generating a complete cost breakdown for every service provided by the city.
